Heavyweight Olympic medalist added to Derek Chisora vs Deontay Wilder undercard

MF Pro have announced that an Olympic bronze medalist will make his professional debut on the Derek Chisora vs Deontay Wilder undercard.

Derek Chisora (36-13, 23ko’s) will face Deontay Wilder (44-4-1, 43ko’s) at the O2 Arena in an Easter weekend bonanza live on DAZN.

It will be both fighters 50th fights respectively, and is set to be a spectacle to close the careers of both fighters.

Just a number of fights ago, this would have been deemed an extremely dangerous fight for ‘Del Boy’.

However, in a dramatic turn of events, the London born heavyweight is now the bookies favourite to be victorious.

At 42 years old, Chisora has managed to string a run of impressive victories together that has seen him climb the IBF rankings.

Victories over notable heavyweights like Otto Wallin (28-3, 16ko’s) and Joe Joyce (16-4, 15ko’s) has put him on the edge of world championship opportunities.

For Wilder, many think the famous trilogy with Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24ko’s) has took it’s toll.

Consecutive defeats to Joseph Parker (36-4, 24ko’s) and Zhilei Zhang (27-3-1, 22ko’s) have left many believing the spiteful right hand is no longer there.

Despite this, much of the talk prior to this fight announcement was that the Bronze Bomber was set to land a shot at Oleksandr Usyk (24-0, 15ko’s).

In what will be MF Pro’s second but certainly largest event, the heavyweight clash looks to be accompanied by a stacked undercard.

London’s Viddal Riley (13-0, 7ko’s) will face Mateusz Masternak (50-6, 33ko’s) for the EBU European Cruiserweight title.

MF Pro have now just announced that heavyweight Olympic bronze medalist Abner Teixeira will make his professional debut on this card.

From Sao Paulo, Brazil, Teixeira is a 6’4 southpaw.

At 29 years old, the Olympian’s pro career is likely to be navigated at a fast pace if he has world title desires.
