Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis faces arrest warrant

Gervonta Davis is facing another warrant for his arrest as the WBA champion has allegedly breached probation rules.

Gervonta Davis is back in the news again, and its not for the right reasons.

The talk of the last few weeks was about a potential return to the ring, but things once again have taken a turn.

Alleged domestic violence claims have seen Tank in and out of prison in the last 12 months.

Davis was arrested on January 28 in Miami by the Miami Gardens Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force after an arrest warrant for the alleged domestic violence was issued on January 14.

Tank is one of very few American boxing superstars.

The man from Baltimore has mega wins over Ryan Garcia, Isaac Cruz, Frank Martin and Rolly Romero.

His last fight ended in a controversial draw against Lamont Roach.

That was close to 16 months ago, and who knows how long until we see him in a boxing ring.

A warrant for Davis’ arrest, issued on April 24 by Baltimore Circuit Judge Althea M. Handy, stems from accusations that he attacked his ex-girlfriend at a strip club in Miami Gardens, Florida, in October of last year.

CCTV record Davis grabbing his ex partner by her neck and forcibly removing her from her place of work.

He was released after posting a bond of $8500.

The false imprisonment charge has been dropped.

However, the battery and attempted kidnapping charges still remain.

Despite this, Davis is still 135lbs WBA world champion.

He has recently been ordered to defend his lightweight crown against Floyd Schofield.

PBC, Tank’s promotion are continuing to exercise caution before locking in his next fight due to the ongoing legal issues.
