Frank Warren guarantees “absolute barnstormer” for co-main event of Moses Itauma vs. Filip Hrgovic

Warren guarantees action in Itauma-Hrgovic co-main event.

Moses Itauma is one of the most exciting young heavyweights to come out of Britain in a number of years. Still only 21 years old, the young man from Chatham, Kent, is yet to lose a single round in all 14 of his fights.

Not that he has fought that many rounds. Indeed, the furthest Itauma has seen of a fight is the 6th round, a frame he has only been to twice, both times in 2023.

Since then, he has had ten fights and gone the distance in none of them, going only as far as the 5th round (that being in his most recent appearance).

If Itauma is to progress, he will need experience over the distance. To do that, he will need someone who can take a very good punch and keep on coming.

The American Jermaine Franklin was one such fighter. However, when he fought Itauma in March, the most he could take away from it is that he was the first to take the Briton past the second round in almost three years.

So, now Itauma will be facing Filip Hrgovic, a world-ranked contender with one of the toughest chins in all of boxing. The fight will be going down this August, with fans of the sport getting ready to see the youthful Englishman in his toughest test yet.

But now Frank Warren (promoter of both Itauma and Hrgovic) has stoked up interest in the co-main event, stating in a social media post that it has already been made and will be an “absolute barnstormer” and “guaranteed action”.

Currently, any idea for who the two fighters in that bout will be is purely speculation.
