The 33-year-old is calling for a shot at gold.
Frank Sanchez secured a second-round stoppage victory over Richard Torrez Jr last month on the historic ‘Glory in Giza’ undercard.
The Cuban is now expected to face rising star Moses Itauma for the vacant IBF world heavyweight title next.
The belt became up for grabs after Oleksandr Usyk announced last week that he was relinquishing his heavyweight world titles.
Sanchez now finds himself in pole position for world honours as the IBF’s number one-ranked contender.
While Itauma is already scheduled to face Filip Hrgovic on August 29, the winner is potentially in line to challenge Sanchez for the IBF strap.
Sanchez’s manager, Mike Borao, told Sky Sports: “My expectation is that Moses Itauma could possibly be Frank Sanchez’s opponent in the near future.
“But we will have to wait and see who he ultimately fights next for the vacant title.”
Itauma had been ordered to face Sanchez in an IBF final eliminator last September, but the 21-year-old’s team opted against the bout.
The last time Itauma was in action, he produced a ruthless fifth-round stoppage victory over Jermaine Franklin in Manchester.
But he now steps up in class against Filip Hrgovic, who holds wins over Zhilei Zhang and Joe Joyce.
