Francis Ngannou return announced on Jake Paul event

Francis Ngannou is back and will return to the fight game on Jake Paul and Most Valuable Promotions inaugural MMA event live on Netflix.

Very few sporting stories are as inspirational as the journey of Francis Ngannou.

From battling poverty to becoming UFC heavyweight champion, you’d be excused for thinking the story of the man from Cameroon stops there.

In 2023, Ngannou switched combats, and challenged for the WBC heavyweight world championship against Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24ko’s) in his very first fight.

Despite not getting his hand raised that night in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Ngannou rocked the world.

An overhand left in the third round put the Gypsy King onto the canvas, and will go down as one of the most shocking moments in combat sport history.

The judges scorecards favoured Fury over ten competitive rounds in an ultra tight split decision and Ngannou gained the respect of the boxing world as a legitimate competitor.

Subsequently, a fight with Anthony Joshua (29-4, 27ko’s) was made.

This time round the levels were shown as AJ knocked out Ngannou in brutal fashion inside two rounds.

Ngannou has returned to the Octagon since and his next fight has been revealed, with a new promoter.

Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) are set to stage their inaugural MMA event live on Netflix May 16th.

Two fights will headline the bill, Ronda Rousey vs Gina Carano, and Francis Ngannou vs Philipe Lins.

Jake Paul and MVP have been major advocates for women’s sport, and have revolutionised the recognition they get in boxing.

Paul’s stable of female fighters is now far superior to all competitors.

Most recently, MVP have announced broadcast deals with ESPN and Sky Sports.

A stacked all female card will take place in London headlined by Caroline Dubois vs Terri Harper on April 5th.
