BKB have added another former world champion to their growing roster, with this one a former foe of the great Canelo Alvarez and Erislandy Lara.
BKB Bare Knuckle Boxing are building an impressive roster of former world champion stars over recent months.
Notable additions to the stable have been Lee Selby, Yuriorkis Gamboa and Pauli Malignalli.
The world’s first bare knuckle boxing promotion has now added another talented former boxing standout to it’s growing global stable.
BKB’s latest signing is Alfredo Angulo (28-6, 21ko’s).
Mexican born, Angulo possesses an impressive 80% knockout ratio over a professional boxing career that spanned 15 years.
Angulo’s golden years in the squared circle came in the early 2010s.
With the nickname of ‘El Perro’, he captured WBO interim super welterweight gold, a weight class he spent the majority of his career at.
Not only this, his resume has some of the recent era’s most prominent champions.
None more so than Canelo Alvarez (63-3-2, 39ko’s).
Angulo was a victim of a tenth round knockout by the four weight world champion.
The current oldest male world champion Erislandy Lara (32-3-3, 19ko’s) also secured a knockout victory over the Mexican, in a back and forth fight where both men touched the canvas.
Now it’s time to switch combat and try to capture some more gold.
In a press release, ‘El Perro’ has stated: “I’ve fought the best in the world and I’m still hungry,”
“Bare knuckle brings out a different kind of fighter, and that’s who I am”.
“I’m ready to give the fans exciting fights and show them that ‘El Perro’ still has a lot left”.
CEO of BKB David Tetreault has also shared his excitement on the signing, stating:
“Alfredo Angulo is the definition of a warrior. Fans know exactly what they’re going to get every time he steps into the ring- heart, pressure, and nonstop action”.
Angulo is expected to make his BKB debut July 18 at BKB 56 in Los Angeles.
