Former undisputed star calls out Conor Benn

Conor Benn has been called out by a former undisputed champion of the world for a showdown at 154lbs in 2026

Conor Benn (24-1, 14ko’s) is one of the hottest properties in boxing currently.

Back to back stadium sell outs against arch rival Chris Eubank Jr has catapulted Benn to the top of the sport commercially.

Over three years of chaos culminated in a coming of age performance at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in November.

Benn defeated Eubank Jr via unanimous decision in what was a one sided tactical, disciplined beatdown.

Eubank Jr climbed off the canvas twice in the 12th round to make the final bell.

Periods of inactivity due to maintaining his innocence throughout the failed P.E.D cases for the 2022 scheduled Eubank Jr fight put Benn at rock bottom mentally.

However, perseverance shone through. An exoneration from any wrong doing, and a masterclass in the Eubank Jr rematch has resulted in boxing’s very best wanting to fight the man from Essex.

Conor Benn has declared his desire to move back down to welterweight for the first time in over three years to capture the WBC world title that his legendary father won.

The destroyer has been mandated by the WBC for the winner of Mario Barrios vs Ryan Garcia and will be in attendance in Las Vegas this Saturday.

The Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero fight for his WBA welterweight title is also a fight that is in the works for Benn.

Not having to make 147lbs for over three years has led to a number of boxing experts believing that 154lbs will be a more suitable weight class for Benn.

Newly crowned IBF light middleweight champion Josh Kelly has called for the fight.

In addition, former undisputed champion Jermell Charlo has expressed his desire to fight the Brit.

Speaking to Cigar Talk, Charlo stated: “I like Conor Benn. He’s a cool fighter, but business wise we’ve got to make it happen”.
