A professional boxer and former domestic champion has been handed a three year football ban after being found guilty of homophobic abuse.
Wrexham took Chelsea to extra time in a back and forth FA Cup fifth round tie back in March.
It was one of three championship sides Chelsea faced on there way to a cup final defeat to Manchester City last Saturday.
Sion Yaxley from Pwllglas, Ruthin, pleaded guilty at Wrexham Magistrates Court to a public order offence on 7 March.
The professional boxer has been banned from attending football matches in the UK for three years for homophobic abuse.
He was warned by police after he was heard chanting homophobic slurs towards a group of Chelsea fans, but continued to hurl insults at the group and was later arrested.
Yaxley boasts an impressive 14-1 record.
The 29 year old previously won the Celtic super welterweight and IBO super welterweight titles.
His last foray in the ring was last July, with a points victory in Manchester.
The court was also told that Yaxley had since lost his well-paid job with a security firm and was currently working at a warehouse.
He was said to have lost his good character in his community because of the incident, having previously given up his own time to mentor other young boxers.
The court was told he was very drunk at the time of the offence.
Yaxley was also fined £250, and must pay a surcharge of £100 and costs of £85.
