Floyd Mayweather vs Mike Tyson in jeopardy

Mike Tyson’s exhibition with Floyd Mayweather Jr is in jeopardy, with Mayweather set to focus on professional boxing return.

2026 seems to be a year of activity for Floyd Mayweather (50-0, 27ko’s).

After retiring with the iconic 50-0 in 2017, Mayweather has returned to the ring on numerous times, but only in exhibitions.

However, ‘money’ Mayweather will rematch Manny Pacquiao (62-8-3, 39ko’s) in a professional bout on the 19th September at the Sphere live on Netflix.

Undoubtedly, the multi weight world champion is returning for financial reasons.

Sources have suggested that he is in the midst of a number of legal issues.

Multiple exhibition fights for Floyd have been announced for 2026 as well.

An exhibition in Athens, Greece against hometown star Mike Zambidis is set for July 27th, at the OAKA arena.

Not only this, Mayweather and fellow American sporting icon Mike Tyson have agreed to clash in a spectacle that will capture the imagination of generations of fight fans.

However, Floyd Mayweather vs Mike Tyson now seems to be in jeopardy.

WBN understands issues with the date and venue, coupled with Floyd’s June commitment in Greece against Mike Zambidis, have left a small window. Unless a deal is struck soon, the fight is unlikely for 2026.

Many fight fans and experts are concerned for the health of Mike Tyson, who is 59 years old.

He last entered the ring in November 2024, against Jake Paul, in a professionally sanctioned bout.
