Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight cancelled

Mayweather bout has been cancelled.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. has had a very eventful year so far. The pound-for-pound legend and all-time boxing great has been involved in several legal battles that he has been on both sides of.

Ultimately, the pugilistic immortal has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons, his personal life the polar opposite of his almost flawless fistic career.

This has caused many problems and called to question whether certain plans would be taking place. That’s because Mayweather had three scheduled fights at one point this year.

One of these was an exhibition match against Greek kickboxer and MMA fighter Mike Zambidis, another exhibition against fellow boxing legend Mike Tyson, and a professional rematch with old foe Manny Pacquiao.

However, at least one of those fights will now not be happening.

Indeed, the American’s contest against Zambidis is officially off, the cancellation haven’t been confirmed earlier today. Set to take place this Saturday in Athens, Greece, it would have been one of many exhibition bouts Mayweather has engaged in following his final professional boxing match.

But now that it has fallen through, it is just one of the many frustrations he has experienced in recent times.

Last week, Mayweather was hit with a lawsuit by CSI Sports Events, who are involved with the two other bouts the former multi-weight champion is expected to have this year.

CSI claimed that the Zambidis fight violated the agreement they’d reached with Mayweather, and they stated their intention to prevent the bout from happening.

Since then, the fight had been in serious jeopardy, and it has now fallen through entirely.
