The 49-year-old has raised fresh uncertainty on the pending fight with his former foe.
It was announced last month that Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao had agreed to a professional rematch for September.
Their inaugural encounter turned out to be the most lucrative boxing fight in history.
In the ‘Fight of the Century’, Mayweather claimed a unanimous points victory over Pacquiao to retain the WBA, WBC and WBO welterweight world titles.
11 years later, the rivals are reportedly preparing to run it back live on Netflix at the Las Vegas Sphere.
Although Mayweather has now claimed that the location is not yet confirmed and that discussions are still ongoing.
During a conversation with Vegas Sports Today, he explained: “As of right now, we don’t actually know where the fight is going to be at.
“As of right now, we don’t know exactly where the fight is going to be at.
“We don’t know the location of the fight.
“The Sphere is one of the places that they talked about.
“So we don’t know if it’s a hundred per cent going to be there.
“And this is not actually a fight, it’s an exhibition.”
According to an earlier news release from Mayweather, their upcoming rematch was expected to be his first professional fight since 2017.
The American stated that he would be resuming his boxing career and had signed a multi-fight partnership with CSI Sports/Fight Sports.
But it appears that may no longer be the case.
“It’s an exhibition, so we’re both winners,” Mayweather added. “I mean, we just want to go out there and entertain the people and put on a good show.”
Professional contest or not, Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao are still expected to draw in the crowds.
