Floyd Mayweather called out by Conor McGregor

Conor McGregor has taken to Instagram to call out Floyd Mayweather to fight under MMA rules.

Love him or hate him, Floyd Mayweather will go down in history as one of the greatest boxers ever.

‘Money’ Mayweather made history when he retired with an undefeated 50-0 record from the world of boxing.

During his time in the reign, the Michigan native won won 15 major world championships spanning five weight classes from super featherweight to light middleweight.

Along the way, he defeated legends of the ring including the likes of Ricky Hatton, Oscar De La Hoya, Shane Mosley and Manny Pacquiao to name a few.

Despite such a storied and distinguished roll call of victories, Floyd Mayweather has always courted controversy.

For many, the fight with Manny Pacquiao came too many years too late at a point where the Philippines legend Pacquiao was past his prime.

And the fact that the victory number 50 was against Conor McGregor only helped to fuel the flames of discontent.

After all, McGregor is a UFC fighter.

Skilled as a puncher, as he’s demonstrated inside the octagon on many occasions, boxing fans saw Conor McGregor as an easy fight for someone at the level of Floyd Mayweather and many hoped he’d face a more worthy opponent to hit 50.

Nevertheless, that record can never be taken away and it seems that the battle between boxing and MMA is calling out ‘Money’ Mayweather once again.

That’s because Conor McGregor has taken to Instagram to call out Floyd Mayweather for a rematch.

Only this time, he wants to do in the world of UFC rather than boxing.

McGregor shared a video from when he was on a promotional tour alongside Mayweather and UFC president Dana White and shared a caption calling for the bout.

“Fun times @danawhite, @ufc! @ floyd mayweather, when you are ready for that promised MMA bout, I am here.

“The White House is nice in the summer I heard. 🏦 Just kidding Mike! Although 🤔… I could fight both the same night.

“Floyd MMA? EASY. 10 seconds”.

For those unaware, UFC White House is set to take place on June 14th 2026 on the South Lawn of the White House in Washington, D.C.

And Conor McGregor seemingly wants to face Floyd Mayweather under MMA rules on the card.

Mayweather has boxed against MMA fighters as well as influencer boxers before, but he’s never done so under MMA rules.

It will be interesting to see if he takes up the offer or if this is just another attempt to create some hype by ‘The Notorious’ one.
