George Warren has revealed in the aftermath of Saturday night that Filip Hrgovic is signed to fight Moses Itauma on August 8.
It was a routine Saturday night for Filip Hrgovic as he beat up and stopped Dave Allen inside three rounds.
Whilst it will be a night the Brit will never forget in front of his hometown crowd, the Croatian showed there is levels to this game.
Hrgovic is ranked inside the top five heavyweights in the world with the Ring Magazine, and still has major ambitions of becoming a world champion.
His manager Keith Connolly has stated the ultimate fight is a rematch with Daniel Dubois.
Dubois is now the WBO world heavyweight champion.
Not only this, he is the only man to beat Filip Hrgovic in the pro game.
On the famous 5v5 in Saudi Arabia, Hrgovic won many of the early rounds, landing his right hand at will.
However, Dubois stuck at it, and once he grew into the fight, Hrgovic became more and more cut.
Eventually, the doctor had seen enough, and Dubois was victorious, subsequently being elevated to IBF world champion in the aftermath.
‘El Animal’ has rebuilt strongly, defeating a number of British heavyweights.
It has now been revealed by Queensberry Promotions CEO George Warren that Filip Hrgovic is signed to fight Moses Itauma.
Speaking to IFL TV, Warren stated: “[The contract] is back at the office”.
“It’s done, when Filip resigned with Queensberry, he signed with a commitment with certain fights, one being Moses”.
“He’s mentioned he’s got a slight nick on his eye, it doesn’t look to bad”.
“The intention is to get those two on in August”.
“Moses is raring to go, Moses needs to fight, Moses wants that fight”.
“He was almost p*ssed off with us for making this because he was going I want Hrgovic”.
“[Hrgovic] backs himself, stellar amateur, maybe he’s getting him on the rise up”.
“These are the types of fights you need to do”.
“That’s what makes the world go round”.
