Fight date and location revealed for Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez return

The date and location has been revealed for the return of Jesse Rodriguez, with the Texas star bidding to become a three weight champion.

Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez (23-0, 16ko’s) has brought a lot of eyes to the flyweight divisions in recent years.

His killer instinct with a high knockout ratio has seen him sell out arenas across America.

The man from San Antonio, Texas is the current unified super-flyweight champion of the world.

Not only this, he is a pound for pound star, ranked well inside the top ten Ring Magazine pound for pound rankings.

It has been previously reported that Bam is set to take on the Bantamweight division in his quest.

WBA Bantamweight world champion Antonio Vargas (19-1-1, 11ko’s) is set to be the opponent.

Rodriguez is widely regarded as the main man at super-flyweight.

Victories over Juan Francisco Estrada, Sunny Edwards and Phumelela Cafu are notable victories in recent years.

Bam has been with Matchroom Boxing and Eddie Hearn for a number of years now.

With the emergence of ZUFFA Boxing, Dana White and co landed a massive offer to the star.

But Hearn matched the offer and the Essex based global promotion are set to announce an opportunity for Bam to become a three weight world champion.

Undoubtedly, Rodriguez is a massive asset for Matchroom’s American business, therefore it was imperative they secured a long-term deal for the star.

BoxingScene have revealed that a June 13th date is being targeted for Phoenix, Arizona.

Matchroom Boxing recently held Eduardo Nunez vs Emanuel Navarette in Phoenix, with a sold out crowd of 12,000.
