Sugar Hill Steward has responded to John Fury’s criticisms of his coaching styles ahead of Tyson Fury’s return to the ring this Saturday.
The corner of Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24ko’s) has been a topic of criticism ever since the first Oleksandr Usyk (24-0, 14ko’s) defeat.
Terms like ‘overcrowded’ and ‘conflicting voices’ were used to describe it, and subsequently a change was made.
It was father John Fury removed from the training camp for the rematch, and that unsurprisingly did not go down well.
John Fury was not in attendance at the rematch, and ahead of Fury’s return this week, John Fury has not minced his words when talking about Fury’s trainer Sugar Hill.
In an interview with Playbook Boxing, John Fury claimed that Sugar Hill is “just a gym sweeper living off his grandpa’s name, with them in his corner, he could end up dead or with brain damage”.
In an interview with Boxing King Media, Sugar Hill exclusively responded to this criticism.
Sugar Hill stated: “I have had criticism from my family, it’s just criticism, it’s someone else’s opinion”.
“If you let that bother you, then you probably won’t succeed in life”.
“Tyson chose me, I am the chosen one”.
“It’s what Tyson wants, not everyone chooses me, me and Tyson have been through a lot, we’ve tried, and he’s happy with it”.
“What excites me is the energy Tyson is giving off, right now he seems so much happier”.
After 16 months of inactivity, Fury has a lot of questions to answer at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Many experts believe Saturday night should be a routine victory for the Gypsy King against Arslanbek Makhmudov (22-2, 20ko’s).
Talks of a monster fight with British heavyweight rival Anthony Joshua (29-4, 27ko’s) have started to do the rounds once again.
Joshua himself is set to have a warmup fight, therefore it is imperative Fury does the business in style this Saturday.
