Shane Fury states Tyson will fight this year.
As of right now, whether we will get to see Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua throw down in the ring or not is entirely up in the air. This fight we have been waiting so long to see seems to be as close as it does far, and that is reportedly down to one thing.
Despite being a bout between two British superstars of the sport, the affair could very possibly take place at Madison Square Garden, the historic New York venue dubbed the “Mecca of Boxing”.
Understandably, U.K. fans have not been quick to accept this, and Eddie Hearn has been very particular about wanting the matchup to take place in Britain.
Last week, it was reported that contracts were signed and everything was set to be made official for the 20th of November. Only, it was revealed not too long later that this wasn’t exactly the truth.
Indeed, there is an ongoing discussion regarding the fight’s location, and the pugilistic world is currently waiting on an outcome that will hopefully prove satisfactory to everyone.
However, in an interview with Boxing King Media, Shane Fury (brother of Tyson) has stated that regardless of whether or not the Joshua fight happens, his famous sibling will be fighting on the 20th of November.
“It don’t affect us [if the Joshua fight doesn’t happen] ’cause we’re fightin’ on that date anyway”, Shane stated. “Tyson’s over in America now, trainin’ as we speak.
“He’s got his nutritionist with him. He’s got his strength and conditionin’ [coach]. He’s got his trainer. He’s trainin’. So, if it’s not him [Joshua], Tyson’ll be fightin’ on that day.”
As for who the potential alternative opponent could be, that is unclear.
