Exclusive: Manager of Tyson Fury speaks on if his fighter will attend Anthony Joshua fight

Spencer Brown confirms whether or not Fury will show up for Joshua fight.

This Friday, Tyson Fury will be returning to action when he takes on Polish gatekeeper Mariusz Wach, a fight that is expected to be the final warm-up before a mammoth affair against Anthony Joshua later this year.

The Wach fight will be a charity event in Thailand, one that will see Fury fighting for free at a venue with a select attendance.

It will be taking place the day before Joshua’s return bout, an expected tick-over job against Albanian puncher Kristian Prenga.

With the events so close in proximity to each other–and the main attractions of those events set to throw down–many have been wondering if perhaps “The Gypsy King” will be in attendance for his rival’s fight.

Well, Spencer Brown (Fury’s manager) has now confirmed in a new interview whether his fighter will be Jeddah or not on Saturday.

“No, you won’t [see him there]”, Brown told Boxing King Media. “You never know, but I don’t think you’ll see him ringside Saturday night.

“I mean, he hasn’t seen his family for God knows how long again … So, yeah, I doubt he’ll be turnin’ up for ringside. I think his wife’s [Paris Fury] comin’ over and some of his family, but I think he’s desperate to see his kids.”

Finally, Brown stated, “But you never know with Tyson. There might be a private jet [that will] come to pick him up and take him to the fight. All of a sudden, he’s there with ‘AJ’.”

So, in conclusion, we shouldn’t hold our breaths on Fury showing up for Joshua’s fight against Prenga. However, given the former two-time champion’s unpredictable nature, absolutely anything could happen.

All we can hope is that we finally see the two square off in the ring this year.
