Following much confusion, KSI’s new promotional firm will stage Derek Chisora’s farewell fight, as the heavyweight veteran takes on Deontay Wilder.
After months of hectic heavyweight flip-flopping, it seems as though Derek Chisora’s farewell fight will finally be announced, with Deontay Wilder set to be confirmed as his opponent at a press conference next week.
Wilder (44-4-1, 43 KOs) had been expected to wait until the summer to return to action due to a callout from unified heavyweight world champion Oleksandr Usyk.
However, despite speculation that a deal for that clash had been agreed, Wilder’s manager Shelly Finkel shut down those whispers when he declared that negotiations had not even begun.
Instead, recent murmurs suggest that Usyk will take on Andy Ruiz in Las Vegas, with the victor of that contest and Chisora-Wilder anticipated to fight one another before the end of 2026.
Meanwhile, Chisora (36-13, 23 KOs) has had his own fair share of disappointments, having expected to be retired by this point due to a scheduled December fight date for his career finale.
Although, failed talks with Wilder, Jarrell Miller and Dillian Whyte led to the cancellation of that event, only for ‘The Bronze Bomber’ to reportedly sign to take on the 42-year-old a couple of months later.
The heavyweight duo are expected to collide on Saturday, April 4, at the O2 Arena in London, but confusion has surrounded the promoters and broadcasters of the event, with neither Frank Warren or Eddie Hearn involved.
Everything Boxing has since reported that Kalle and Nisse Sauerland will promote the show despite their outfit, Wasserman Boxing, being up for sale.

Now, Boxing King Media sources can exclusively reveal that the event will be the first ‘Misfits Pro’ card, after the unveiling of the new promotional firm from KSI back in December.
Marquee signing Viddal Riley is poised to feature in the co-main event, as he challenges Mateusz Masternak for the European cruiserweight title.
The remainder of the bill will be made up of fully sanctioned professional contests, rather than the crossover bouts that are usually associated to KSI and the ‘Misfits’ brand.
The card will be broadcast live on Sky Sports PPV, as the broadcasting giant reaffirms their interest in boxing, following the expiration of their partnership with Boxxer.
