Dillian Whyte has shared his verdict on Conor Benn leaving Eddie Hearn to join Zuffa Boxing and Dana White.
A man that had his ups and downs with Eddie Hearn is ‘The Body Snatcher’.
Dillian Whyte (31-4, 21ko’s) enjoyed his very best days under the Matchroom Boxing.
Whyte and Hearn never had a long-term contract and the man from Brixton insisted on working fight to fight.
Together the pair made the O2 Arena a home for Dillian Whyte, with blockbuster fights against Anthony Joshua, Derek Chisora and Joseph Parker all taking place in South-East London.
The pairs relationship always had an interesting dynamic due to Hearn and Matchroom’s loyalty to Whyte’s rival Anthony Joshua.
It was Matchroom’s loyalty and trust in Conor Benn (24-1, 14ko’s) that has resulted in a chaotic ongoing feud between Hearn and Benn, with Conor leaving his career-long promotion to join rivals Zuffa Boxing and Dana White.
Conor Benn takes on Regis Prograis (30-3, 20ko’s) this Saturday as chief support in Tottenham.
Whilst Whyte hasn’t got his next fight in place currently, the Jamaican born heavyweight is in London on media duties for Fury-Makhmudov this week.
In an interview with Boxing King Media, Dillian Whyte shared his thoughts on the ongoing feud between Eddie Hearn and Conor Benn.
Whyte stated: “Conor Benn is in a small weight division, those guys career’s are not long”.
“He’s had a couple of hard fights, the training would’ve been way way harder than the fights, who knows how much he has got”.
“Conor is in the process of making his own history, maybe he knows himself not to waste time, he might as well go where the most money is and take care of himself”.
“I don’t blame him, when things are great everyone is your friend, when things are bad nobody is your friend”.
“Credit to him for being smart as a young man”.
Conor Benn is number one and mandatory for WBC welterweight world champion Ryan Garcia (25-2, 20ko’s), a win on Saturday could see the British star land the title shot he has desired for so long.
