Exclusive: Chris Eubank Jr reveals plans for next fight as free agent

The British boxing star has spoken candidly about his future in boxing.

Last month, Chris Eubank Jr announced he was a free agent.

As attention turns to what is next for the 36-year-old, he has shared his intentions with Boxing King Media.

Eubank Jr explained: “I’m a fighter, I’ve always been in love with the sport, so I will campaign for as long as I can until the wheels fall off.

“They nearly fell off in that last fight, but we kept things together, and since then I have been on a recovery programme getting back to full health.

“Getting back to the old Chris Eubank Jr, you know, in that last fight you saw a fighter that wasn’t me. Everyone knows that.

“If i can get back to what I was, I think I’ve got at least a few more years left in the sport.

“So I’m going to try and do everything I can to make sure that happens.

“There’s no specific plan, there’s no contracts drawn up. I am a free agent.

“I’m not tied down to any one promoter, any one outfit, any one broadcaster, I’m free.

“It’s a beautiful position to be in because the industry knows this.

“We have a lot of exciting opportunities and offers to weigh up, pick from and decide which route we want to go.

“I’m in Nigeria, I’m halfway across the world, there are opportunities here, and there are opportunities in America, England, Saudi, and the Middle East.

“It all comes down to what’s best for me.

“I think I will be back in the ring maybe towards the end of the year.”

For now, Chris Eubank Jr must first make a full recovery from the ‘underlying health condition’ he suffered during the build-up to his rematch with Conor Benn in November 2025.

Then, he is expected to return under new guidance.

Although, Eubank Jr penned a ‘long-term partnership deal’ with Ben Shalom’s BOXXER back in July 2024.

And, according to Shalom, Eubank Jr is still very much tied down.

What has Ben Shalom said?

Shalom stated: “I have a great relationship with Chris.

“There’s a lot going on in boxing at the moment.

“I don’t know the motivation, but he is under contract with Boxxer.

“That will work itself out privately. There are a lot of people in people’s ears saying they’ll cover certain things.

“All I can say is that we have a contract with him. We have a long-term partnership with Eubank Jr.”
