Exclusive: Ben Shalom slams Eddie Hearn “pathetic fake outrage” over Conor Benn saga

Ben Shalom has called out Eddie Hearn’s reaction to Conor Benn leaving Matchroom as BOXXER founder makes comparisons to Ben Whittaker.

Ben Shalom has shared his thoughts on Conor Benn leaving Matchroom Boxing to join ZUFFA and Dana White.

The CEO and founder of BOXXER has had a fractious relationship with Eddie Hearn over the years.

When Eddie Hearn left Sky Sports to sign exclusively with DAZN, Shalom successfully secured the exclusive Sky Sports deal.

Cracks in the pairs relationship started to appear during a period of time when Ben Shalom pulled his fighters out of ordered purse bids against Matchroom Boxing fighters.

These fights included Dalton Smith vs Adam Azim, Frazer Clarke vs Fabio Wardley, Jai Opetaia vs Richard Riakpohre and Caroline Dubois vs Beatriz Ferreira.

2025 saw the pair co-promote Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn twice under the Ring Magazine banner.

Back and forth between the two ensued and the rivalry heightened after Chris Eubank Jr slapped Conor Benn round the face with an egg.

Boxing King Media can exclusively reveal Ben Shalom’s thoughts on Conor Benn leaving Matchroom.

Shalom stated: “I’m not surprised”.

“I just couldn’t believe the reaction, I thought it was a parody, I thought Eddie Hearn was playing up, fake outrage”.

“I found it pathetic in the circumstances, that is what they are, that is what they do”.

“They’re all scumbags”.

Former star of the BOXXER stable Ben Whittaker signed for Matchroom Boxing in 2025.

Shalom relayed comparisons to this and stated:

“It hurt me”.

“I put everything into him, so I do know why it hurts”.

“Did I get a thank you? No. Did I get a call? No. So it hurt me”.

“I’m not saying what Conor Benn did is right, I just found the reaction comical”.

Ben Shalom claims that Matchroom “absolutely rinsed him, and everything was directed at him” when they unveiled him.
