Arslanbek Makhmudov has shared his verdict on the eagerly anticipated Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua mega fight.
It wasn’t meant to be for the Russian hopeful Arslanbek Makhmudov (21-3, 19ko’s) on Saturday who was a victim of a shutout points defeat to Tyson Fury (35-2-1, 24ko’s).
The fight did not catch fire and after a few early rounds of ring rust, Fury got himself in a rhythm as the fight went on.
His evasive style saw him begin to make Makhmudov punch air as Fury counter punched on the back foot.
The biggest moment of the night came post-fight when Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua (29-4, 27ko’s) engaged in a conversation that had the British public gripped.
A fight that’s a decade in the making, Turki Al-Sheikh, Netflix and SELA were hoping to get the fight announced in the ring in North London, but it wasn’t meant to be.
Whilst both parties want the fight, there is still work to be done on Joshua’s side, who after the tragic events that occurred in Nigeria last December understandably wants a warmup fight.
Joshua called himself ‘the landlord’ and stated that he’s ‘the boss’, meaning the fight will happen on his terms.
Critics will say the fight is happening too late, but one thing is for sure is that it will be undoubtedly one of the biggest sporting moments in British history.
Speaking to Boxing King Media, Arslanbek Makhmudov has given his verdict on the proposed mega fight.
When asked if Fury would beat Joshua, Makhmudov stated: “I think yes”.
“Because, Fury just had a good test, I’m not a nobody”.
“I’ve fought all around the world”.
“Now he’s ready for Joshua, 100% he can beat him”.
“Points or knockout I’m not sure, but I think he beats him easily now”.
