The Briton is considering a move up in weight after his latest world title setback.
Anthony Yarde has been out of action since his defeat to David Benavidez last November.
After a third unsuccessful attempt at a world title, attention has turned to what comes next for Yarde.
While the 34-year-old has fought in the light-heavyweight division throughout his professional career, he is eyeing a new set of challengers.
During a conversation with Boxing King Media, Yarde explained: “I’ve always said, you know, I used to joke about it and say I’ll go heavyweight as well.
“But absolutely, I’ll go heavyweight. I’ll go to cruiserweight and heavyweight.
“It just depends on [the opponent], you know, I’m not going to fight Tyson Fury…actually, I might.
“But, you know, I’ve got a management team. I’ve got a trainer.
“I’m sure that if I do ever go heavyweight, I’ll get someone, you know, that’s maybe not too much taller than me, maybe like 6’4 or something.
“But, in my career, I would love to go cruiserweight and heavyweight. And I think I would thrive at cruiserweight, if I’m being honest.”
Now, it seems a future at 200lbs could be closer than ever for the Briton.
Although if Yarde does move up in weight, he has confirmed he will still be targeting fellow Briton Joshua Buatsi.
He continued: “I’ve said it time and time again. I want to fight Buatsi.… me and him talk on the phone. We’ve had little arguments…
“If it was at cruiserweight, I wouldn’t mind that. I think it would be better on both of our bodies.
“I heard from the grapevine, he’s struggling to make weight [at 175lbs] as well.
“Not that I’m struggling, but, you know, it does play a part in your performance or whatever.
“That’s another option [fighting at cruiserweight].”
Buatsi, 33, struggled to fully impress in a majority decision win over Zach Parker in November.
Following the Benavidez-Yarde fight, Buatsi’s promoter Frank Warren also indicated potential interest in revisiting a bout between his man and Yarde.
Now, it appears the rivals could be weighing up a potential clash at cruiserweight.
