Eddie Hearn teases announcement of Matchroom Boxing fight schedule

Hearn says Matchroom fight schedule will be announced soon.

When a new boxing schedule is announced, it’s always exciting. All at once, fans have a load of fight reveals dumped on them, and that means we have plenty of action to look forward to.

In an interview posted to the Matchroom Boxing YouTube channel yesterday, Eddie Hearn teased that the Matchroom schedule will be announced soon and specified what bouts we should expect to see made official.

“We [have] got so much planned. I mean, it’s a huge, huge period comin’ up for us”, Hearn stated. “Obviously, in July, you have the return of Anthony Joshua [against Kristian Prenga]. July 18th, the week before, you have [Diego] Pacheco [and] Andy Cruz in a big show in L.A.

“Goin’ into August, we’ll have a show in London to be announced shortly. We’ll also have another show in Australia headlined by Teremoana [Teremoana]. Katie Taylor will go September the 5th in front of what’ll be close to 90,000 at Croke Park. Should be absolutely incredible.

“Pat Brown against [John] Hedges will be announced shortly … We’ll have a huge show on September 4th in America, as well, the Friday night before the Katie Taylor fight.

“Pat Brown–as I said–against John Hedges, which we’ll headline with, actually, in Manchester. Then you’ll have Ben Whittaker in a big fight–all bein’ well Saturday [against Richard Rivera]–headlinin’ in October, early October.

“Then in October, as well, you will have Dalton Smith fightin’ [Alberto] Puello in the rescheduled fight, as well. ‘Bam’ [Jesse Rodríguez] to get out. ‘Boots’ [Jaron Ennis] once he wins on Saturday [against Xander Zayas], as well. [Dmitry] Bivol against [David] Benavidez and [Artur] Beterbiev.

“I’m probably missin’ a load of stuff, as well, but [we are] just ram-packed all around the world for the rest of the year … I think when we announce our schedule probably next week, it’ll probably be 12 shows that will be announced close off the bat.”

All in all, some extremely exciting stuff.
