Eddie Hearn insists Regis Prograis is ‘badly injured’ ahead of Conor Benn clash

Eddie Hearn has cast doubts on the match-up.

Regis Prograis is set to meet Conor Benn on the undercard of Tyson Fury’s comeback against Arslanbek Makhmudov on April 11.

Rumours had suggested Prograis was close to withdrawing due to injury, but he has denied those claims and insists he is ready to compete.

Despite his denial, Matchroom chairman Hearn has voiced fresh concerns about Prograis’ physical condition, raising questions in the build-up to the bout.

During a conversation with iFL TV, Hearn said: “Regis Prograis, who shouldn’t even be in the ring, because he’s that badly injured…

“Everybody knows. Everybody knows about Prograis.

“I’m not gonna discredit Prograis or the fight, everyone knows the situation.

“Whatever.”

If Prograis is not fully fit, as reports suggest, it could significantly influence the outcome of the fight.

Any limitations in his preparation or physical condition may affect his performance in the later rounds, where stamina and sharpness become crucial.

If Hearn’s concerns prove accurate, Benn could have a significant advantage heading into next weekend.

That edge could play a decisive role from the opening bell and shape how the contest unfolds.

Of course, all of that depends on the fight actually going ahead as scheduled.
