The blockbuster fight has hit another contractual snag.
Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury have already signed individual agreements with Turki Alalshikh to meet in the ring later this year.
However, differences between their respective agreements have prevented the highly anticipated fight from being officially confirmed.
Alalshikh and Netflix had initially favoured staging the blockbuster in the United States.
Joshua’s contract, though, stipulates that the ‘Battle of Britain’ must take place on home soil.
Joshua and Hearn have refused to budge, with Cardiff’s Principality Stadium now lined up for December 11.
Fury’s deal contains no such provision, creating uncertainty around where the blockbuster will ultimately be staged.
Now, Eddie Hearn has revealed another discrepancy in the rivals’ contracts.
He told the media at the Pat Brown vs John Hedges post-fight press conference this weekend: “The drug testing protocol was the same as what has always been in there.
“It wasn’t adhered to in its form. I don’t actually necessarily blame Tyson Fury for that.
“As we’ve found out on many occasions, what’s in AJ’s contract is not necessarily in Tyson Fury’s contract.
“Testing was supposed to start when the original contracts were signed, and it didn’t for them.
“And I don’t think [Fury] had in his contract that it had to start then.
“So this is not me saying, ‘He didn’t enrol.’ I don’t think he was obligated to enrol [in his contract].
“But in our contract, he was obligated to enrol.
“There have been many issues along the way with the contract that we have let slip and ride because we want to stay in the fight and make sure it happens.”
