Dua Lipa declines approach to perform at Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua

We may be seeing Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua, but there won’t be a Dua Lipa concert alongside it.

Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury is a fight that has been spoken about for well over a decade.

At one point it could’ve been for the undisputed heavyweight world championship.

Now it will likely be for nothing other than bragging rights.

However, one thing remains the same, this is the biggest fight in British boxing history, and it is officially signed.

Whilst a date and location has not been revealed, what we do know is that November is likely, with London teased by Turki Al-Sheikh.

Before, there has always been so many obstacles in the way, now there seems to be just one, or maybe two.

Anthony Joshua (29-4, 27ko’s) returns in a warmup fight July 25th against Kristian Prenga (20-1, 20ko’s).

It is understood that the opponent has been carefully picked by the involved parties, to ensure this is nothing but a routine ‘tick over’ fight.

However, it has been a turbulent 18 months for the North Londoner, and until July, no one really knows how much AJ has left.

It will be a nervy summers evening in July for boxing fans, who will be hoping AJ does what he does best and dismantles the Albanian.

The other potential hurdle is slightly more left field.

First reported by Sky Sports, Turki Al-Sheikh has informed Netflix that the Fury-Joshua will only take place at Wembley Stadium if Dua Lipa performs.

There has now been an update to this bizarre story.

According to BBC Sport: “The 30 year old singer was approached about performing but declined the offer and is not expected to be involved in the event”.

Whether this actually impacts the odds of this fight landing in England is yet to be seen.

It is believed that Wembley is the preferred location for October.
