Devin Haney reportedly receives new deal worth more than $100 million.
Devin Haney is considered to be one of the best fighters in boxing. A superb technician who is on most people’s pound-for-pound lists, “The Dream” embodies American slickness and ring IQ like few others.
Yet he has proven to be a Marmite-type fighter throughout his career. Some like him, while others really do not. His number of fans may be identical to his number of detractors.
Yet Haney’s achievements speak for themselves. A three-weight world champion who was previously undisputed at lightweight, he is officially undefeated in 34 fights.
Most recently, Haney fought hard-punching WBO welterweight champion Brian Norman Jr., handing the Georgian is first official defeat and upsetting the odds for the first time in his career.
That was in November, and those interested in seeing Haney out again have speculated on his next potential opponent. But while rumours have circulated over a blockbuster showdown with Shakur Stevenson, nothing has been made official.
However, Bill Haney (Devin’s father) has now hinted at something on social media that may give an idea of things to come.
The claim is that Devin has received a new deal worth over $100 million. Bill ended his online post with, “Who’s your manager?”
The true nature of this deal has not yet been revealed, but of course, that has only led fans to theorise even more. One theory is that Haney may have signed with Zuffa Boxing.
This is purely speculation, but given that Zuffa have made a series of big signings recently, it wouldn’t come as a shock for them to have signed the American, as well.
Whether this is the case or not, we will most likely find out in due time.
