Derek Chisora in line to fight Deontay Wilder in fight number 50 of the Brit’s amazing career.
Deontay Wilder is set to collide with British boxing icon Derek Chisora, in what is set to be the Brits 50th and final fight.
The former WBC world heavyweight champion has suffered heavy defeats in recent years at the top level, with Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang both recording comprehensive victories over the Bronze Bomber.
In an attempt to revitalise his boxing career, Wilder returned to the ring in June 2025 with a 7th round stoppage victory over Tyrell Hendon.
Deontay Wilder has widely been recognised throughout his career as one of the hardest hitting heavyweights of all time.
Starting boxing at age 19 to provide a living for his family, Wilder’s freakish power and unorthodox technique has took him to the summit of the sport.
With experts claiming he is past his best, the Bronze Bomber is looking to prove the doubters wrong and return to the pinnacle of the sport.
Recent speculation has suggested that Wilder was poised to challenge the current WBC, IBF and WBA heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.
This fight was rumoured to be taking place in San Francisco under a brand new ground breaking promotional company called IVisit Boxing.
However, sources close to Brunch Boxing are now suggesting that Deontay Wilder and Derek Chisora are set to clash.
Brunch Boxing report that the two are to fight in April in England, with a press conference scheduled for next week in London to publicly announce this fight.
The fight is tipped to bring interest from the wider sporting world due to the commercial significance of both Wilder and Chisora, as well as two brilliant personalities that will no doubt provide an entertaining build-up.
Chisora, who is off the back off two impressive points wins over Joe Joyce and Otto Wallin, is looking to close the final chapter of his career in style.
Brunch Boxing state that a shot at Oleksandr Usyk is still on the cards for the Bronze Bomber, subject to victory against Chisora.
Therefore with careers on the line, this heavyweight showdown is set to bring fireworks from the very first press conference.
Could this be the final chapter of the career of Derek Chisora or will this be the end for both of these long-term servants to the sport?
We should find out soon.
