Chisora names big puncher as his favoured opponent for Itauma’s comeback.
Recently, British boxing fans witnessed Moses Itauma lose to Filip Hrgovic in a fight for the vacant IBF heavyweight championship.
Considered by many as the most likely fighter to rule at the top of the big-man division when the likes of Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk retire, Itauma built a big lead against the Croatian before suddenly tiring and being stopped in the 9th round.
Because of the hype around the young Briton and the belief that many had in his ability, a lot of fans were left disappointed by the outcome and questioned whether Itauma could learn from his mistakes and come back even stronger.
Plenty of great fighters have bounced back from early setbacks in their careers, and the fact remains that Itauma is only 21 years old. Needless to say, he has a whole load of time to take a look at what went wrong and do his best to make sure that that does not happen again.
But of course, when he returns, he will need to take a step down in his calibre of opposition before he goes back up to the world level, and there are a number of potential candidates for Itauma to do this with.
However, British fan-favourite Derek Chisora has revealed exactly who he believes Itauma should make his comeback against, with the heavyweight veteran naming a big puncher who is known as “The Midnight Train”.
“I know boxin’, bro”, Chisora stated to Seconds Out. “Richard Riakporhe at Manchester; comeback fight in December for the British title.”
A former cruiserweight world title challenger, Riakporhe has had three stoppage victories at heavyweight, the most recent of which arrived over then-holder of the British title Jeamie TKV.
