Former heavyweight champion left infuriated by question from Simon Jordan.
Deontay Wilder still hasn’t gotten over his defeats at the hands of Tyson Fury. The pair shared a trilogy that many believe to be one of the greatest in boxing history, but officially, Wilder lost the series 0-2-1. The majority of observers actually think he should’ve gone 0-3.
A man who did officially go 0-3 against Fury is Derek Chisora, who Wilder will be fighting in April. Another fight in April will be Fury’s comeback against Arslanbek Makhmudov.
But Wilder and Chisora have already taken part in the promotional build-up to the fight, and we have some very interesting moments as a result. Just the other day, on Rick Reeno’s “Mr. Verzace” podcast, Wilder expressed his disdain for his two-time conqueror by claiming the refereeing in their first fight favoured Fury because of “white supremacy”.
And now Wilder has further demonstrated his hatred for his former opponent in a soon-to-be-released interview with talkBOXING.
After being asked a question Fury by Simon Jordan, Wilder initially refused to answer it. But when Jordan – known to not mince his words – kept on trying, Wilder replied, “No, I won’t talk about him. We are not going to talk about him at all.”
But Jordan responded by mentioning Wilder’s excuses following his rematch with Fury, saying, “You talked about the water being spiked, the Game of Thrones outfit being too heavy for you.”
Wilder grew increasingly angry and barked at Jordan, “You can say that. I know the truth. I have the facts!”
Deontay Wilder then stood up and approached Jordan, at which point security stepped in to prevent things from going too far.
Wilder then abruptly left the studio.
It was an explosive encounter that will undoubtedly be getting people talking about the American heavyweight in preparation for his clash against his British counterpart.
The interview is expected to be uploaded in its entirety to the talkSPORT Boxing YouTube channel tonight.
