David Benavidez announces his three fight wish list

Undefeated two time world champion David Benavidez calls out three fighters as he reveals his opponent wishlist for 2026.

David Benavidez (31-0, 25ko’s) has revealed his desired next three opponents.

The man known as the monster dominated and stopped British light heavyweight Anthony Yarde in round 7 in his last outing in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The former super middleweight world champion and the current WBC light heavyweight world champion has other notable names on his resume like Caleb Plant and David Morrell.

Born in Arizona, Benavidez has been chasing the sports very best for a number of years now.

The man with Mexican heritage had desires to fight Canelo Alvarez during his super middleweight days, but with the fight never materialising, Benavidez has continued to claim that the all time great never wanted to fight him.

After his impressive victory in Riyadh, PBC and Golden Boy Promotions announced that Benavidez will be moving up to cruiserweight to challenge Gilberto ‘Zurdo’ Ramirez for the unified cruiserweight championship.

This bout will take place on Cinco De Mayo weekend, May 2nd in Las Vegas.

Benavidez will have the opportunity to become a three weight world champion.

Win or lose, Benavidez is naturally a 175lbs fighter and intends to move back to this weight after his foray at cruiserweight.

Speaking to The Danza Project, Benavidez outlined his three fight roadmap.

“The bouts we’re looking at and talking to the promoters and we’re going to make it happen 100%, I’m going to fight Zurdo Ramirez, then I’m going to come down and make that fight with Bivol, and then I’ll fight Beterbiev”.

Dmitry Bivol currently holds the remaining three cruiserweight belts.

Bivol and Beterbiev have now been inactive for close to a year since their famous two fights.

With trilogy talks in the works, it is believed that the pair will undergo warm up fights, potentially on the same card before a famous trilogy showdown later this year.

With these fights yet to be finalised, it’s up to team Benavidez to try and secure a big money fight with Bivol and Beterbiev.
