Daniel Dubois in talks for return to the ring against dangerous heavyweight

Daniel Dubois is in talks for his return to the ring, with a dangerous heavyweight tipped to be the opponent.

Daniel Dubois (22-3, 21ko’s) is in talks to return to the ring for the first time since his knockout defeat to the hands of Oleksandr Usyk (24-0, 16ko’s) in the undisputed heavyweight championship fight at Wembley stadium.

The former IBF world champion is not looking for an easy touch in his return, with a heavy hitting dangerous heavyweight in the mix.

Team Dubois parted ways with trainer Don Charles shortly after their crushing defeat to Usyk, with the Greenwich born heavyweight teaming up with trainer Tony Sims in Essex in an attempt to try something new.

However, in a remarkable turn of events, Dubois has reunited with Don Charles.

Dubois and Charles went on an impressive run of defeating Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic, and Anthony Joshua in consecutive fights, placing Dubois at the top of the division as IBF champion.

This also saw Don Charles win the British Boxing trainer of the year.

Co-manager of Daniel Dubois Sam Jones has revealed to Boxing Scene that “There’s been talks to try and make Zhilei Zhang (27-3-1)  against Daniel Dubois, which Frank Warren has highlighted, so we’re actively trying to make that happen.”

“We are actively now, with Frank Warren, trying to get Daniel back into the ring pretty soon.

“He’s ready, he’s back in the gym, and he’s raring to go. He’s ready to fight now.”

Zhilei Zhang and Daniel Dubois are widely regarded as two of the heaviest hitting heavyweights on the planet.

‘Big Bang’ Zhang is off the back of a stoppage defeat to WBC interim champion Agit Kabayel (27-0, 19ko’s).

The 42 year old Chinese heavyweight has inflicted defeats on Joe Joyce and Deontay Wilder in brutal fashion.

If these two giants meet in the ring, it will be fireworks for as long as it lasts.

Zhang is very dangerous early, however his gas tank has let him down as of late, with Kabayel exploiting this with body shots.
