Dana White announces main event for debut Zuffa Boxing show

Dana White confirmed the news to Stephen A Smith on Sirius XM.

Dana White sure is a busy man when it comes to combat sports.

Most people know White as the CEO and president of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

Under his tenure, the UFC has seen an unprecedented level of growth as it’s gone from strength to strength.

But that’s not the only fight organisation that Dana White is involved in.

Power Slap is an American slap fighting promotion company founded and owned by White.

And his latest venture sees him enter a third space within the world of combat.

Zuffa Boxing is boxing promotion founded by Dana White alongside Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority Turki Alalshikh.

Turki Alalshikh has had his hands all over the world of boxing as he’s been able to put together some of the biggest boxing fights in the past few years, including Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford, Conor Benn vs Chris Eubank Jr and Tyson Fury vs Oleskandr Usyk.

Zuffa Boxing is being launched under the TKO Group Holdings organisation – the parent company of the UFC and also World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

Their first event is set to take place at UFC’s Apex facility on Friday, January 23 2026 and we now know what the main event of that card will be.

Just two weeks before the show, Dana White has announced that Callum Walsh will face Carlos Ocampo in the main event of the first ever Zuffa Boxing show.

White confirmed the news to Stephen A Smith on Sirius XM.

“We have this kid named Ocampo who is a seasoned veteran, his only losses are in title fights, three title fight losses,” Dana White told Smith.

“He has more knockouts than Callum [Walsh] has fights, Callum is undefeated 15-0.

“That’s the main event, it should be a bad a– boxing event”.

24-year-old Irishman Walsh will be coming up against 30-year-old Ocampo.

While Callum Walsh is undefeated in his 15 professional fights so far in his career, Carlos Ocampo has a record of 38-3, with title fight losses to Tim Tszyu, Sebastian Fundora and Errol Spence Jr.

Dana White and Turki Alalshikh have been talking about reshaping the boxing world for a while now and this event represents their first attempt to do that.

The first show premieres on Paramount+ as part of a multi-billion dollar deal between Paramount+ and Zuffa Boxing.

Fight fans will be tuning in to see just how the show turns out and what the vision of White and Alalshikh will look like.
