The Gypsy King is not the only Fury lacing up the gloves tonight.
Tyson Fury is just hours away from stepping into the ring against Arslanbek Makhmudov at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
But, before the doors opened for 62,000 fans, action was already underway behind closed doors.
In an unannounced bout, Fury’s cousin, Ricky Gorman, quietly outboxed Ryan Labourn.
Gorman’s bout had not been publicly announced during fight week, and neither fighter appeared at the ceremonial weigh-in on Friday
Despite the lack of official promotion, there had been some prior indication that Gorman would be involved in the event.
Back in February, he took to social media to confirm that he would be competing on the undercard of the ‘Gypsy King’s highly anticipated comeback bout against Makhmudov.
Gorman wrote on Instagram: “April 11 [I] am back [at] Tottenham Hotspur.
“All praise [goes] to Jesus Christ and to my cousin Tyson Fury for putting me on this card.
“God bless you, brother, now let’s go.”
As details surrounding his opponent and the fight itself remained unclear until much later, there was an element of surprise to the card.
With the win, Gorman continues his strong start in the professional ranks, moving to an undefeated 2-0 record.
The victory marks another step forward in his early career as he builds momentum and gains valuable experience in the ring.
On the other side, Labourn’s difficult run persists, as he drops to 0-41-2.
Despite the result, he remains a seasoned journeyman, often stepping in to face up-and-coming fighters and providing them with crucial rounds and ring time.
