Conor Benn officially leaves Eddie Hearn and joins rival promoter

British star makes surprise announcement regarding new promoter.

Conor Benn’s stock rose significantly in 2025, with his two contests against Chris Eubank Jr. breaking through to people outside of the immediate boxing fanbase.

This went some way to restoring his reputation following his failed drug tests in October of 2022, and a combination of these things have made him one of the biggest names in current British boxing.

Unlike Nigel Benn, his famous father, Conor Benn has yet to win a world title or even a regional title, yet his popularity persists and he remains mentioned by some of the best fighters in the sport as a potential opponent.

This may have something to do with how Benn performed across both fights, as he engaged in all-out warfare in his first encounter with Eubank Jr. and was incredibly gracious in defeat.

In the rematch, Benn put on the most complete performance of his career, thoroughly outpointing Eubank Jr., dropping him twice in the last round, and looking for all the world that he was close to a stoppage win.

Since then, Benn’s next potential fight has been the subject of much speculation, with many names coming up as possible opponents.

But whoever it’s going to be, it was assumed Benn would be fighting under Eddie Hearn, as the Matchroom Boxing promoter has been very close to Benn, especially when it came to clearing his name following the positive PED test.

Well, out of nowhere, it has today been announced that Conor Benn has signed with Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing.

This arrives as a huge surprise, especially given the recent spat between Hearn and White. Benn becomes the latest high-profile fighter to sign to the newly-formed league of the UFC boss.

Benn officially announced the decision on his personal social media, beginning his statement with, “First and foremost, I want to thank Eddie [Hearn] and the entire team at Matchroom for everything they’ve done for me over the past decade.”
