Conor Benn and Duke McKenzie appear cordial after heated altercation

The two British boxers have once again found themselves face-to-face.

Conor Benn and Duke McKenzie were filmed in a heated confrontation during the IBA World Championships in Dubai last year.

McKenzie had been quietly sitting in the stands, seemingly minding his own business.

When Benn suddenly made a beeline for the three-weight world champion.

In one video ‘The Destroyer’ can be seen aggressively shouting at McKenzie, jabbing his finger toward him as tensions rose.

A closer clip provides more context, revealing that Benn was reacting to comments McKenzie had made about his failed drug test ahead of his cancelled 2022 bout with Chris Eubank Jr.

Throughout the confrontation, McKenzie struggled to respond, repeatedly being shouted down by Benn’s relentless tirade.

McKenzie later revealed he was left ‘deeply upset’ by their clash.

But now, it seems the white flag has been waved by Benn.

According to the clip shared by Spencer Fearon, Benn had approached McKenzie apologetically.

Fearon’s video states: “At this year’s annual British BoxingBoard of Control luncheon awards, it was nice to see Conor Benn go up to Duke McKenzie, the former freeweight world champion, and apologise for his outbursts and tantrums of last year while the two were in Dubai.

“Duke said, ‘I have no problem with you, it’s all love’, to which Conor replied, ‘Yeah, I’ve got nothing but love and respect for you.’

“That was really nice to see, as it takes a real man to squash something and end it with love.”

While the exact details of their private encounter are unconfirmed, the pair certainly seemed cordial.
