Comeback plans for Vasyl Lomachenko revealed including weight class

It appears the 38-year-old isn’t done with the sport just yet.

Vasyl Lomachenko has not fought since stopping George Kambosos Jr in May 2024.

The two-time Olympic gold medallist claimed the vacant IBF lightweight title with that victory.

He then entered negotiations over a potential unification clash with Gervonta Davis.

However, Lomachenko withdrew from talks to take an extended break from boxing.

He subsequently announced his retirement from the sport in June last year.

The 38-year-old reversed his retirement in May after his promotional deal with Top Rank expired.

Lomachenko has also made no secret of his desire to face WBA and IBF super-featherweight champion Emanuel Navarrete.

The Ukrainian recently told Brian Custer that he intends to launch his comeback in November at 130lbs.

While he did not reveal his next opponent, Lomachenko has been consistently linked with unbeaten Filipino contender Charly Suarez

Suarez most recent outing was against Manuel Avila, who he blasted away in the first round.

Following his win, he was quizzed on a potential fight with Lomachenko.

He responded: “It depends on my promoter, Sampson [Lewkowicz].

“He knows what is good for me. I trust him so much – with everything.

“He knows the best fight for me.”
