Chase DeMoor announces free agency following Andrew Tate win

American influencer announces split from Misfits Boxing.

Ask a group of people who call themselves boxing fans what they think of Misfits Boxing, and it’s likely you’ll get a different answer from all of them. Some argue that the shows they put on present boxing to a younger audience, whereas others feel that the influencer-heavy cards do little for the sport’s image as a whole.

The company was founded by YouTuber KSI alongside Mams Taylor and the Sauerland brothers, and it became clear from the start that the promotion very much favoured novelty fights over typical boxing.

If you look at the BoxRec records of the fighters featured on the cards, you’ll find that there is a separate section titled “MF-pro” for bouts that took place under Misfits rules. This is why fighters can fight for Misfits titles and call themselves champions of their division.

One such Misfits titleholder is the organisation’s heavyweight champion Chase DeMoor, a former actor and college American football player who fought Andrew Tate in December.

When KSI was fired as CEO of Misfits and Andrew Tate took his place, everything seemed set for Tate to win. His laid-back attitude at press conferences certainly reminded you of a winner, juxtaposed to the verbals and threats that came from DeMoor.

But on the night, Tate was not the winner. Instead, DeMoore defied the expectations of most when it was he who got the win, still able to call himself a champion of sorts afterwards.

And DeMoor has now revealed on social media that he is no longer fighting under Misfits. Announcing himself as a free agent, he spoke of his love and respect for the time he’s had under the promotion, hoping to continue working with them and to have something signed soon.
