Caroline Dubois dismisses Terri Harper ahead of unification fight

Caroline Dubois is confident she will emerge victorious from her next fight.

Caroline Dubois is gearing up to fight Terri Harper at the top of Most Valuable Promotions’ card on April 5 at Kensington’s Olympia.

They are scheduled to fight across 10 rounds live on Sky Sports for the unified WBO and WBC lightweight world titles.

As fight night looms, tensions between the rivals are already boiling over after Dubois branded Harper “irrelevant”.

During the launch press conference for the event, Dubois’s fierce comment about her opponent was brought into question.

She explained: “[This fight] represents the start. I’m very excited to be headlining.

“This is amazing for me, I can’t wait. I believe I’m going all the way, and it starts with Terri.

“I called her irrelevant because I believe she is.

“My legacy starts with me becoming undisputed.

“Unfortunately for Terri, she’s the one holding the belt.

“If it were anyone, it wouldn’t matter. My energy would be the same.”

The last time Dubois fought was in December, when she outclassed Camilla Panatta on the undercard of Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua.

Meanwhile, Harper has not fought since claiming a unanimous decision victory over Natalie Zimmermann last May.

Both women will look to make a statement on April 5 to bring an end to a rivalry that has been building for years.

With Caroline Dubois holding the WBC title and Harper the WBO belt at 135lbs, unification awaits the victor on a stacked Easter weekend in the sport.

Elsewhere, in the historic double main event, Ellie Scotney (11-0) will face Mayelli Flores (13-1-1, 4 KOs) in a 10-round undisputed clash at 122lbs.

The all-female card also marks the first time MVP, the self-proclaimed “home of women’s boxing”, will enter the UK market.
