Caroline Dubois calls out rival Alycia Baumgardner for future fight, as the WBC lightweight champion chases undisputed success in 2026.
The WBC lightweight champion Caroline Dubois (12-0-1, 5ko’s) has not held back in her pursuit of rival Alycia Baumgardner (17-1, 7ko’s).
The London born champion signed to Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) in the fourth quarter of 2025.
Her first fight on an MVP promotion ended in a unanimous decision victory for Dubois on the undercard of Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua, live on Netflix to over 33 million viewers.
Caroline Dubois is one of four existing world champions in her weight class, and Dubois is also eyeing up unification bouts.
The other three are Terri Harper, the WBO titlist, Stephanie Han, the WBA belt-holder and Elif Nur Turhan, the IBF world champion.
Speaking to Sky Sports Boxing, Dubois has stated “All those three, they’ve all got belts which is great and I feel like this year is all about unifying and becoming undisputed. When you’ve got a list of girls who can make it happen and exciting names, it’s so good”.
Both Dubois and Baumgardner fought on the Paul vs Joshua undercard, and sparks were flying between the two at the press conference.
Dubois told Sky Sports: “I felt like she was talking a lot of cr*p and I felt like it was up to me to step in and correct what needed correction”.
“She likes to go around saying she’s the face of women’s boxing, and I refute that 100%, I think you’re looking at the face”.
“I see her as a competitor, I respect her as an athlete, I respect her skill, I just believe I’m better at everything she’s good at”.
“I see the standard she’s at and I want to match it and overtake it, so that’s where the clash of personalities and rivalry will grow from”.
