Carl Froch predicts clear winner if Moses Itauma faced Anthony Joshua

‘The Cobra’ has no doubts over who would emerge victorious.

Moses Itauma is one of the hottest rising stars in boxing right now.

On March 28, he will face Jermaine Franklin at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester, in a bout that could significantly boost his standing in the heavyweight division.

As he looks to climb the ranks, Carl Froch has shared his verdict on how Itauma would fare against former two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.

During a conversation with NewBettingSites, Froch said: “Out of any of the heavyweight ex-champs, I think AJ would be Itauma’s best pick to look good against, because I think AJ’s not the force he was.

“Psychologically and mentally, he is not there anymore.

“He’s been banjoed a few times.

“I don’t think his heart’s in the fight game anymore.

“So, it’s a bad fight for AJ, yeah, and I think that Itauma probably beats him.”

Itauma has quickly built a reputation as an early-round knockout artist since making his professional debut in 2023.

But he has yet to face anyone of Joshua’s calibre.

Joshua brings a wealth of experience to the table, creating a clear gap between the rising star and the seasoned champion.

Having shared the ring with some of boxing’s biggest names, including Wladimir Klitschko and Oleksandr Usyk, the 36-year-old has proven his pedigree time and time again.

While it’s unlikely the Watford powerhouse would take on a young prospect like Itauma at this stage of his career, a matchup between the two would undoubtedly be an explosive showdown.
