British all-action fighter to return on York Hall card.
On the 3rd of May, Top Tier Boxing are set to do a card at the York Hall headlined by the English and WBO European super-lightweight title fight between Bradley Townsend and Yaser Al Ghena.
While the main event should provide for some good viewing, there is also an undercard filled with its own interesting load of action.
Two names in particular stand out, with two returning British contenders set to take up slots on the show.
The first of these is Henry Turner (15-1, 7 KOs), a supremely talented welterweight operator known as “The Showman”.
Turner had picked up the WBC international silver super-lightweight title and beaten a number of domestic opponents to announce himself in the division.
In a 2024 challenge of British and Commonwealth champion Jack Rafferty, Turner was putting on a brilliant boxing display before ultimately being ground down and stopped by his heavy-handed foe.
Turner has since posted two quick stoppages at welterweight, looking rejuvenated in his new division.
The second fighter is Sam Noakes (17-1, 15 KOs), a Maidstone monster with a set of solid fists.
Noakes won his first 13 fights inside the distance and won the British, Commonwealth, and European titles as he progressed.
Towards the end of last year, Noakes challenged undefeated American contender Abdullah Mason for the vacant WBO lightweight world title, losing a highly competitive decision that gained him the respect of all observers, including Turki Alalshikh.
The opponents for neither Turner nor Noakes have been confirmed yet, but both men will be expected to win emphatically and advance further down the road to bigger things ahead.
The two once-beaten talents are sure to be in terrific fights in the future and will get the chance to show what they’re all about once again this May.
