British boxing is thriving at the moment, with DAZN seemingly having a UK show every weekend.
It’s been an exciting start to 2026 for British boxing.
We have gained two new male world champions in Dalton Smith (19-0, 14ko’s) and Josh Kelly (18-1-1, 9ko’s).
The long awaited Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua clash seems to be drawing closer and closer, as Eddie Hearn reveals negotiations are at a very advanced stage.
Not only this, the next generation of world class talent are showcasing what they are all about on undercards up and down the country.
In this article we are going to go in depth on five of British boxing’s brightest prospects.
The criteria is that the fighter must have ten and under professional bouts, therefore they are still very much in the apprenticeship phase of the pro ranks.
1. Pat Brown
The word prospect is a very loose term when describing Pat Brown (6-0, 6ko’s).
Olympic star, Brown is tipped to be ready for world level right now, but Sam Jones, Eddie Hearn and Matchroom aren’t jumping the gun just yet.
An English cruiserweight title fight against John Hedges (12-0, 3ko’s) has been ordered by the BBBoC.
Eddie Hearn and co believe ‘The Bomber’ will be fighting for world titles by this time next year, before an inevitable move up to heavyweight.
2. Leo Atang
Billed as the next Anthony Joshua (29-4, 27ko’s) from debut, at just 19 years old, Leo Atang is already 6-0 (5ko’s).
Yorkshire born, Atang is actually a non-blood relative of heavyweight fan favourite David Allen.
At such a young age, there is no need to move the youngster extra fast.
The Moses Itauma fight seems inevitable later down the line, but one thing is for sure is that Britain is continuing to produce top class fighters in a division they have dominated in recent years.
3. Taylor Bevan
8-0 (8ko’s), what a start to life as a professional for Taylor Bevan.
The man from Southampton has dynamite in both hands.
Not only this, the super-middleweight division is wide open.
The English super-middleweight championship is currently vacant.
There is nothing quite like the traditional route of collecting the English, British and European titles on his way to the world stage.
Queensberry Promotions are staging an event at St Mary’s Stadium this summer, could Bevan feature on this homecoming card despite being a Matchroom fighter?
4. Dylan Arbuckle
The now British super-bantamweight champion, Dylan Arbuckle (10-0, 4ko’s) holds a valuable piece of gold.
At 27 years old, now is the time for Arbuckle to see if he can use this momentum to propel himself to world level.
Signed with Frank Warren and Queensberry Promotions, could Arbuckle become another example of excellent matchmaking and manoeuvring by the Hall of Fame promoter.
5. Tiah Mai Ayton
If you’re tipped to become a world class female fighter by Katie Taylor, then you must be special.
Tiah Mai Ayton (5-0, 4ko’s) is believed to be bringing Matchroom Boxing and DAZN to Bristol in 2026.
The super-bantamweight star overcome a banana skin fight last time out winning 77-75 on the scorecards.
One thing for sure is that it was valuable experience for the 19 year old that is destined for the very top.
Next week, Tiah May Ayton faces a former British, Commonwealth and European title challenger, on the undercard of Conah Walker vs Sam Eggington in Wolverhampton.
