NBA star is keen to try his luck in a new sport when he retires from professional basketball.
Jaylen Brown has built an impressive reputation during his NBA career so far.
In 2023, he was rewarded for his dominance with one of the most lucrative contracts in NBA history — a five-year supermax extension worth up to $303.7 million.
Brown is also a five-time NBA All-Star and was named the 2024 NBA Finals MVP.
He remains under contract with the Boston Celtics through the 2028-29 season.
While showing no signs of slowing down, the 29-year-old is already eyeing a new venture down the line.
He explained to reporters at the NBA All-Star Game media day: “To be honest, I’ve toyed with this, and I’ve talked to some people.
“Maybe post-part of my career, I’d love to partake in something like UFC or even boxing.
“I’ve talked to Dana White about some stuff, but we’ll see as things go on.
“We’ll see.”
Jaylen Brown previously revealed that he incorporates Muay Thai into his NBA training regimen.
Standing an imposing 6ft 6in and weighing 223 lbs, he would certainly make him a formidable presence in the world of combat sports.
Should the opportunity come around, that is.
Speaking to Men’s Health in November 2024, Brown revealed: “I’ve just started doing Muay Thai, for about a year now.
“Just wanted to challenge myself in a different way, challenge my body.
“It’s been great for opening up my hips, which is great for defence, but also being able to stay low, have a greater balance, and being able to stay in certain positions for longer periods of time.
“Muay Thai, the flexibility of it – also fighters train harder – and being able to incorporate that into my mind and my body has been great.”
