Ben Whittaker lays out the 2026 roadmap

Potentially Britain’s next commercial juggernaut Ben Whittaker has big plans for 2026.

It’s been a frustrating start to 2026 for Ben Whittaker (10-0-1, 7ko’s).

The man from Wolverhampton was in line to co-main event a proposed mega fight between Jaron Ennis and Vergil Ortiz Jr in the States.

However, as we all know that fell through, so Matchroom had to manoeuvre.

Subsequently, he was added to the Callum Smith vs David Morrell card.

Eddie Hearn has promised to give ‘The Surgeon’ activity in 2026.

With Callum Smith pulling out of his fight with a hand injury, Whittaker now headlines in Liverpool.

His opponent goes by the name of Braian Suarez (21-4, 20ko’s).

Should Whittaker get through the Argentinian on Saturday night, there are bigger and better plans in the pipeline.

Speaking to The Stomping Ground, Whittaker stated:

“The ultimate goal is to become a world champion, number one at the weight”.

“For me whoever’s in front of me I’ll beat”.

“I’ve done it before where you look too ahead you might get unstuck, I don’t want to look past Suarez”.

“I believe I do get the job done, after that we will be in America in June, that’s something to look forward to”.

Whittaker’s showmanship and personality has transcended well with the American fans.

A major reason behind leaving BOXXER to join Matchroom was their global presence, especially in America.

It is likely Whittaker will feature on the Zayas-Ennis card in New York this June.

Speaking about a potential American debut, Whittaker said:

“It’s going to be a scene out of Coming to American man, I’ve got a lot of plans in mind”.

“I think the fans are going to love me out there”.
