Ben Shalom preparing legal action on Zuffa Boxing and Dana White

Ben Shalom is ready to take legal action against Dana White and Zuffa Boxing for signing fighters under contract with BOXXER.

The sport of boxing is often described as one of the most unforgiving industries from a business aspect.

Its a brutal sport both in and out of the ring, and promoter Ben Shalom is in the midst of it all right now.

In the last 12 months, Ben Shalom and BOXXER have moved broadcast platform from Sky Sports to the BBC.

Bringing boxing back to free to air television in the UK is a brilliant opportunity to grow the sport and the fighters platforms.

Starlet Adam Azim is taking on Steve Claggett this Saturday on BBC 2, and Shalom expects viewership figures of close to two million.

The broadcast move has come with its controversy though.

A number of fighters have left the promotion, including Ben Whittaker, Caroline Dubois and Josh Buatsi.

Additionally, Ben Shalom is involved in a serious legal situation with Sky Sports representatives, the Manchester based promoter has claimed that the findings of the case will shock the sporting world.

In a recent interview with The Stomping Ground, Shalom was quizzed on Zuffa Boxing and their newly announced broadcast deal with Sky Sports.

Shalom stated: “All I’ve seen so far is fighters under contract to BOXXER or under obligations just being announced on shows, that’s a very dangerous game to play”.

“In my opinion, perhaps Sky are behind that, but its a very dangerous game”.

“Maybe because I’m a nice guy, or whatever they just think, but I’m telling you we have the courts in the legal system for a reason”.

“You cant just decide because you’re a big powerful company you can do what you want, it’s not a lawless society”.

“That’s just not how business is, and that will cause them major major problems going forward”.

“I have to [take legal action]”.

“I think they think Ben Shalom, what is he going to do?”

“You cant do that”.
