Figures rewarded for their actions in 2025.
The British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC) Awards 2026 winners have been officially unveiled, seeing some of Britain’s biggest boxing names receive awards for their efforts in 2025.
Fabio Wardley (20-0-1, 19 KOs) won “Boxer of the Year”. The Ipswich heavyweight enjoyed a productive 2025 that saw him capture the WBA interim title with a one-punch, come-from-behind knockout over unbeaten technician Justis Huni.
Later on in the year, Wardley would win the WBO interim title by stopping Joseph Parker in a terrific fight. Wardley would soon be upgraded to full WBO champion upon Oleksandr Usyk’s relinquishing of the belt, a status Wardley will defend against Daniel Dubois this May.
Meanwhile, “Young Boxer of the Year” would go to Moses Itauma (13-0, 11 KOs), who enhanced his reputation as Britain’s biggest heavyweight hope with a two-round destruction of America’s Mike Balogun and a one-round blowout of veteran Dillian Whyte. Itauma will return against Jermaine Franklin Jr. later this month.
Oleksandr Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs) was named “Overseas Boxer of the Year” for his repeat victory over Daniel Dubois that saw him become a two-time undisputed heavyweight champion.
“Contest of the Year” honours went to the humdinger that was the first contest between Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr. The two sons of legends collided for an instant classic that saw Eubank Jr. reign victorious over 12 rounds.
They would rematch later on in the year, with Benn gaining revenge. Benn will be returning against Regis Prograis this April.
Ben Davison won “Trainer of the Year” after guiding Shabaz Masoud to victory over Peter McGrail and seeing several other fighters of his win across their respective appearances in the ring.
Dalton Smith (19-0, 14 KOs) was given the CBC Dennie Mancini Trophy, having recorded dominant performances over Walid Ouizza and Mathieu Germain. Earlier in 2026, Smith defeated Subriel Matías to become the WBC super-lightweight champion and is expected to defend against mandatory challenger Alberto Puello next.
Nigel Travis received the Sir Henry Cooper Services to Boxing Award for his long and continued contributions to boxing, while the first Special Recognition Award went to respected journalists Tris Dixon, Matt Christie, and Claude Abrams.
Finally, the second Special Recognition Award went to Josh Taylor, the former undisputed super-lightweight champion who retired in 2025 following his loss to Ekow Essuman.
