Anthony Joshua undergoes treatment ahead of boxing return

Anthony Joshua ramps up his recovery after a tragic car crash last December, as a return to training camp beckons.

In December, Anthony Joshua (29-4, 27ko’s) was involved in a tragic car crash in which close friends Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele lost their lives.

Anthony Joshua has achieved so much in his life, both in and out of the ring.

The former two time unified heavyweight world champion has won Olympic Gold, and defeated the likes of Vladimir Klitschko, Joseph Parker and Alexander Povetkin.

Just a number of days before the events that occurred in Nigeria, Joshua returned to the summit of the sport commercially, after virally knocking out Jake Paul live on Netflix to over 33 million viewers.

A big 2026 was in the pipeline, with Tyson Fury talks at a stage where British fight fans were confident they would finally see the showdown of the countries two biggest stars.

Career long promoter of AJ Eddie Hearn has stated that the former champ will return to camp in the coming weeks.

Once this process is underway is when the roadmap will be laid out for 2026.

In the meantime, Joshua is gearing up both physically and mentally to return after a turbulent couple of months.

The 36-year-old former heavyweight champion has been sharing footage on Snapchat showing intensive treatment being carried out on his ribs, which appears to involve painful therapeutic work.

Undoubtedly, British boxing is in a better place when Anthony Joshua is fighting, but after these unforeseen circumstances, it is imperative that Joshua makes the correct decision for himself.

Rival Tyson Fury is set to return to the ring for the first time since defeat against Oleksandr Usyk in December 2024.

The Gypsy King will face Arslanbek Makhmudov at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
