Anthony Joshua signs commercial deal with CAA Sports

Joshua signs deal with CAA Sports.

Anthony Joshua is one of the biggest names in all of professional boxing. A superstar whose fame crosses over into the mainstream public, the Watford man needs no introduction of any form.

After capturing the attention of the British public by winning a gold medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in front of his people in London, he turned professional with a ready-made fanbase.

As a result, there was much excitement when he steamrolled America’s Charles Martin to become the IBF heavyweight champion in 2016.

Joshua would then put together a series of wins that saw him collect two more belts to become the unified titleholder, a status he famously lost to Andy Ruiz Jr. in one of the biggest upsets of all time.

He would defeat Ruiz in a rematch to become a two-time champion. Of course, his career since then is well-known, having had high-profile bouts with the likes of Daniel Dubois, Oleksandr Usyk, and even Jake Paul.

And ahead of his scheduled return against Kristian Prenga next month, 258 MGT (Joshua’s management company) has struck an exclusive deal with CAA Sports.

This deal will see Freddie Cunningham (managing director at 258) become head of client strategy at CAA Sports Talent Group, a position which will see him suppport the company’s athlete business development and strategic growth across its international roster.

Joshua now joins a list of CAA clients that includes the likes of Premier League football player Cole Palmer, football pundit and former professional player Gary Neville, and presenter Laura Woods.

Just the latest in a series of business affairs involving 258, it is understood that Matchroom Boxing will continue to oversee Joshua’s promotional matters.
